Description

Want to date someone who shares your drive? And maybe you'd like to meet someone attractive who looks good in black-and-white photos, courteous enough to use proper punctuation, and flexible enough to fit into your way-too-restrictive schedule? While your mother may call you picky, we call you self-aware. It’s happy hour, so go get ’em.' We’ll do the vetting so you can do the petting. League users now have the option of becoming members by purchasing several subscription options. Membership offers extra perks, customization, more prospects and invites to exclusive events. Depending on what term you choose, your Membership will last for 1 month, 6 months, or 12 months, and automatically renew at those intervals from the point of purchase onward. If you wish to cancel your membership before it renews, you must do so at least 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at the confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and will be renewed at the same price the next term. Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase. • Not a very premium experience

This app is pretty expensive at the lowest tier. And yet after you become a paid subscriber they constantly badger you to upgrade to a higher tier. What’s clear and that this app has no incentive to help you find a match, since then you stop being a subscriber. They want to give you the periodic illusion that you’re being served matches. Meanwhile, notifications that when you tap on will take you to something that ultimately needs you to upgrade to some other tier. Premium price, not a premium experience.

This app is useless! At first I liked the idea that it vetted members by linking their social media accounts. It sounded as if real people couldn’t hide behind an anonymous profile, so there might be some success of authenticity and an expectation of engagement. Wrong! The men don’t write back or engage in an actual phone call or meeting. Big waste of time.

How anyone could say this dating site is a scam is beyond me! I have been a member for several months now and my experience with them has been stellar! The concierge is an absolutely delightful as well as incredibly helpful person answering all of my communications in a timely manner and giving very thorough and serious insight into whatever my question may be. I am highly selective as far as who I want to see and I have to say that I have only met lovely people here and that includes also meeting new girlfriends to attend their various events with as well! I certainly haven’t seen any other sites that offer fantastic, exciting and creative opportunities for socializing. Those can be great as it takes a lot of pressure off of dating for those who prefer a more casual approach to seeking a perfect match. Bravo to The League!

Their “elite” system just means you wait a long time to get very few matches and even fewer that are authentic and promising. What a waste.
  • They’ll make you wait forever just to get your money

This app might be the greatest ever. But if you aren’t willing to pay the $50 you’ll never end up on the site. I was disappointed because I thought this was going to be a great site and that maybe I’d wait a few days. But I’ve been waiting a few weeks while they send me messages saying I should pay to sign up.

SCAM eventually. They wait till you engage then force you to pay. Unacceptable waste of my time. Not easy to delete account. After years of being a member and early adopter. When I took some time off and logged back in - they just “deactivated” my account without reason and said I should pay to access. Total waste of time! Looks good in the beginning (met nobody amazing) and useless eventually. Avoid to save your time unless you want to be forced to pay.
  • Almost fraudulent

Give your money to charity. At least you’ll be doing something good for someone. It is not clear what you get for this expensive app. You do not get matches. Instead you are asked to pay even more.
  • Potential but has not lived up to the marketing

7/9/19 **just as an update to the below response. Yes, you are not required to be a member but it is marketed to get you to become one. My recommendation is that you stay a guest for sometime before you invest in becoming a member. Make sure it is the dating app that is for you. It’s interface is much like Coffee meets Bagel, so If you like that you may like this one. In terms of “exclusivity” the profiles are not any better then Hinge. I have not found the response rate or quality of profiles to be better than Hinge. In other words I have not found it that “exclusive” as it is marketed. Overall make sure this is the best app for you before you invest in it. Thanks ——————————————————- 7/3/19 This app had a lot of potential. It has a great interface and seems wonderful when you are first looking at it, as it seems exclusive etc. I’ve been trying to find something that was of a higher caliber than other dating apps and it is definitely marketed as such. Unfortunately it does not live up to that. I would recommend not spending money on this app. If you are interested in trying it just stay as a guest. Most of the profiles I’ve seen on other apps including Hinge, Bumble and Tinder. And those I have matched with have not messaged back though I’ve been the first to message every time (something I’m use to as a user of bumble). I think there are many apps like this that are free that you have just as much luck with.
  • Need to fix group chat notification

Hi, long term user and admirer of the league. But you've made the app unusable with the "hi, I've joined xxxxxxx" messages for every member that joins a group chat. I literally get 20-30 of those per day on popular groups. They add no substance and act as a nuisance. Please consider changing this new "feature".
  • Concept is meh. App needs a ton of work.

This app kinda reminds me of a bad version of Coffee Meets Bagel. For starters, it ignores any filter I have set. I live in Minneapolis and my age range is set from 24-32, yet the app is constantly sending me matches who are 21 and in Chicago. If the problem is that there aren't enough people in Minneapolis that meet my filters, say there's no one available. Don't show me something that doesn't meet my criteria. Also, I've looked at the payment options and they're so overpriced. Also also, give us the ability to "unmatch" the concierge. I never look at those messages because they're pretty much spam.
