  • Good in theory - poor in practice

    I wish the app worked well. The main problems are: - has difficulty scanning well even in good light - does poor job of reading text correctly - the app crashes frequently (and doesn’t auto save so u have to enter the lead all over again)

    Previous versions used to work quote well, but after updating to the latest version, the scanner gets stuck and I get a message “Looking for card edges”... it never finds the edges, even in excellent conditions where other scanning apps work perfectly. I managed to get one card scanned recently, after mutiple attempts, and it didn’t synch with Zoho, although all conditions to synch were fulfilled. ZOHO: get your act together, or remove the app from the App Store.

    I was super skeptical at first but when I started to use it I was pleased to see the result. It is more accurate than any of the business card scanner apps I’ve tried(only one paid for). Additionally this one was able to very easily make zoho contacts out of the business cards which is a huge bonus. Good job

    Will not scan the outer edges of most business cards. You will get a partial scan of the card has a predominant color other than white.

    This app doesn’t link to Zoho crm perfectly. It links to Zoho CRM terribly. It doesn’t upload the card you scanned to ZC, creates company name as an account, When Zoho crm accounts are companies you do business with, not anyone you just met. Doesn’t allow you to link yourCRM fields to the scanner. Amazing how backwards Zoho teams work and how disjointed their inter-team communications are. Zoho CRM clearly understands that you need fields in your leads and contacts that match the way you do business. Yet somehow, CardScanner team thinks you ought to use whatever field they provide, which most times, since they are in India, doesn’t work with the way Americans do business, or make any sense at all. Using card scanner takes forever bc you have to scan and fix each card one at a time. Here’s what needs to improve: 1. MASS SCAN CARDS, then pull up screen to fix in a list view 2. Connect to CRM custom fields already set up in CRM. Allow this to be done in settings 3. Allow mass updates of all fields just like in crm 4. Don’t automatically upload to CRM so unclean data isn’t uploaded bf cleaning is done. Instead, in list view page, place link to upload to CRM 5. Improve OCR recognition to reduce necessary cleaning

    Overall it can add the contact to many different locations and is extremely efficient, fast, and accurate for the most part. Very impressed. Wasn’t expecting it to be high functioning, and it over-delivered.
