  • No Bluetooth

Strava used to be a great app. Never crashed, added an element of competition to every ride, easy analysis of my rides, and keeping up with other riders. But now that they removed Bluetooth support instead of fixing an apparent crash issue (I’ve used the app daily for nearly a year on a couple different iPhone models with no issues at all), the app is useless.

  • Bad support

Used and paid for app for years. They had trouble with Bluetooth so just stopped supporting it instead of fixing problem. Don’t pay for premium. It’s not worth it any more unless you want to spend hundreds of $$$ to buy compatible sensors.
  • Still no iPad support

Not a knock on Strava service in general but the lack of iPad support for many years is disappointing, particularly today after seeing an ad “ download a new Strava app for your iPad”.
  • Glitchy.

Bummer. Keeps messing up on my walls and rides. Will it pay for the upgrade.
  • Apple Watch app could use some help

For some reason after my iPhone updated, the Apple Watch Strava app has been choosing the Outdoor Ride, even when I chose run or walk. After deleting the app from the watch, and updating the phone app, at least outdoor run gives me run instead of ride. Walk is still broken. Also, the miles and heart rate on the watch are TINY, which my 53 year old eyes can’t see without reading glasses. Maybe make them a slightly bigger font? I do love the Strava app on my phone, and the way I can see my hear rate against the elevation of the run.
  • BT Sensors no longer supported

This has been a great app so far but once they remove BT support later this month, it looses all value. Now you are forced to purchase an expensive alternative device to record your data or use an alternative app. For those of us who need our phones during our rides either because of medical conditions, music or a need to remain in contact with others, you will now need to use another app to record your info and then import the data into Strava. But if I am using another app, I see no purpose in using Strava. And if I have to buy an expensive bike computer, I will be using the Device manufacturers’ native app. So bye bye Strava and I think I will try Specialized’s Ride app or Wahoos app next.
