  • Best Meditation App!

I have spent hours with several different meditation apps, this by far is my favorite. Harris has created something unique and inspiring with this platform. He stays away from the woo and pseudo science of other spiritual apps, while at the same time exploring the mysterious nature of consciousness. If you aren’t an experienced meditator he will make the beginning of the journey accessible. If you have experience meditating he will help you find new and deeper ways to encourage your practice. I have personally found the conversations that he has with others in the field to be particularly engaging. Most importantly, he makes the continuation of practice easy. Meditation has WHOLLY changed my life. It has reduced my anxiety and helped reduce my stress. It has helped me see my life more clearly and helped me understand myself, or rather, lack of self in a way I didn’t know was possible. If you are considering mediation and using an app to help in that endeavor- choose this one. John

This app has changed my life. Meditation is the key to happiness. I would highly recommend this app to anyone looking to improve their mental health! Sam is excellent at guided meditation and I can’t wait to get my kids started on his wife’s kid motivation program.
  • Best meditation app available!

I CANT STAND GUIDED MEDITATION. I never have. I just don’t like the cheesy music or the persons overly enthusiastic voice. Call i it t my ego, but I also felt like I could just do it on my own. Well I wasn’t doing it. Hardly ever. Never consistent anyway. I am on day 22 of the beginner course and love every minute of it! I look forward to it every morning and even practice during the day. I have noticed a significant shift in my awareness of my mind, which carries over to my body. THIS IS THE BEST MEDITATION APP AVAILABLE!

Update: The organization is flawless now. The app developers a definitely listening to us! Old Review: I loved this app when it came out. I only criticize it because I love it so much. The course is perfect and I love how it’s a gradual learning and training process. The problems are with the lessons section and they could be easily solved which is why I’m so irritated by this. The app has been getting progressively messier and messier since it came out. The lessons section is the worst part of the app and not because of the content. The lessons are not organized well and the new addition of podcast length “lessons” are not done well. You can’t pause these long lessons (without it losing your place if you close the app) so I almost always lose my place when I try to get through them throughout the day. I loved listening to the shorter lessons before or after my meditation sessions but these are more like podcasts and the shorter ones are just not being made anymore. Why not properly organize this content and add a pausing feature (at least for the long audio that isn’t meditation)? Also full meditations and long q&as are mixed in with the lessons which makes it even more confusing.

The best meditation app I’ve ever tried. His 50 day intro course is very well put together. I’ve tried several other meditation apps over the years and never could quite stick to it. The other thing I appreciate about this app is that it is 100% focused on the practice itself. To boot, I’m one of many people who couldn’t quite afford the subscription - they have given me 1 year free! As soon as I can I’ll be a paying subscriber because I use this app everyday. It has changed my life and my ability to be intentional through some very difficult life circumstances. The practice will, many days, offer me a palpable experience Of relief. Cannot recommend highly enough!!

I’ve tried books and other apps with little success. Waking Up is in a class by itself, it offers a credible path to success unlike any other.
  • Helpful, Transformative

I've been subscribed to and using Waking Up for several months now, and 3,800 minutes of meditation later I finally got around to giving a review. I had previously meditated off and on throughout the years, but never sticking with it consistently for more than a week or two. I'm not much for gadgets in this context, but with this app I have meditated every day for months, with no lapses. The offerings to subscribers are incredibly generous, and the slow and thoughtful development of the daily meditations, now with 10 and 20 minute options, has been helpful. The lessons are plentiful and high quality. It's amazing how transformative a meditation practice can be without trying to be. Thank you Mr. Harris, you've done something deeply helpful to my life.

This app is extremely well-executed and flawless in performance. Sam’s knowledge, guidance, and soothing voice come together to form a very powerful meditation app. The lessons and conversations are icing on a very nice cake. I’m now at day 22 and see myself continuing this for a long time to come.
  • The only mindfulness app you’ll ever need

To whoever is considering whether to download this app and start practicing mindfulness, go ahead and take the plunge. This is the only app you will need, and will lead to improvements in your overall quality of life. You’ll focus better, think more efficiently, and respond to otherwise stressful/emotional situations in a far wiser manner. Sam is an excellent teacher, a brilliant neuroscientist/logician/philosopher/(how many other hats should I apply?) and will walk you through the skill of mindfulness and how to train your brain. If I have only one complaint, it is that you will be meditating and feeling rather mindful, and then his voice will interrupt you to lead you to the next step! Great app, great service, great mentor. Can’t recommend highly enough.
