  • The app is designed to entice you to pay to see more

Warning there is no more!!! iTunes will not honor the 30 day free Also there are still only 24 classes broke up into sections. They claim 60 classes but it’s not 60 only 24. You can’t see this till you pay!!!! Warning! Be prepared to feel ripped off!
  • App does not work

The lessons here are beyond valuable. The app is almost unusable. On top of the steep cost is the price of admission to these hallowed halls is your frustration getting the videos to play. Since I’m rating the app and not the presenters, two stars. The app looks nice. The buttons just don’t work.
  • Issues on my iPad

I love this app except when I try to use it on my iPad it won’t work. It freezes or says there’s a video playing within the video and it doesn’t show anything. I can go in through my browser and watch the videos and access anything in MasterClass. It is slightly frustrating that I can’t access anything through the app now. Works on my phone and Apple TV just not my iPad for whatever reason.
  • one star for subtitles

The subtitles are horrible. I like to read subtitles while I watch so I can learn and pick up on words I cannot understand by hearing what is said. I just heard Jane Goodall say “desertified” (with or without hyphen) meaning “turning into desert” and the subtitle instead wrote “dissatisfied” — how appalling. That is the moment I stopped and wrote this review. Some of the other masterclasses are even worse. For example, Marc Jacobs uses a lot of french or fashion terminology that the subtitle marks “inaudible”. And Hans Zimmer used the words “church organ” which, again, was marked as “inaudible”. Stop hiring people who know nothing about the subject to do these subtitles, or ask the masterclass person to verify what he/she said so the subtitles can be useful. So unprofessional..... unbelievable. Who edits this crap?
  • Website crashing

Yes the classes are amazing, I just wish the website would stop crashing. Also would be nice to have an actual group of live people you could call when necessary, as far as Customer Service etc.
  • Too expensive

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great concept, but I believe that $90 for just one class is a bit much. The $170 per year for every class is good but, what if you want only three or four classes? You would be paying $360! I could go out and get a guitar amp, pedal and strings for that price!
  • Extreamly Annoyed, Slow to Load if at All

I paid for the full year, was really excited about the content for sometime and have given it a lot of thought on whether or not to sign up, so today I did. However I’m not impressed with the App, for a moment I thought it was my WFI, nope. Then I turned my IPad on and off, nope not that either. After trying to figure out what was the problem, it came down to the fact this App is not able to live up the quality of the classes that are offered, sad really. I gave the App two stars, the content I love, I will just use the internet to view it on, it’s just sad this app is not cable to live up the potential that it offers. Let me know when the problems you having with the App are corrected and I would be happy to change my “Star Ratting” to what it should be a 5.

When I call even in business hours there is no answer. Have taken days just to reset my password.
  • Marc Jacobs Master Class

I really love the patchwork dresses Marc designed with his team and some of the images from his grunge collection. My favorite was a beautiful black dress made from pieces of different fabrics and textures all stitched together beautifully. I also really liked how he speaks. It is really cool that when he describes a design he refers to it like so, “We found antique books for inspiration” etc. I just find it refreshing that he gives credit to his team almost every time he explains his process. I am always impressed by collaborators. My only real complaint is that this class, which I am not finished with, only leaves me wanting to see more. I would like to meet his team in the class and see them work and watch a sketch go to their pattern maker and see the toile or muslin and then the finished garment and to see more of his process. I would like to see all of his collections and shows and inspiration. I really think it would be worth it to take the class for the full year to really learn all there is to know.
