It's brilliantly simple and perfect way to organize everything - notes, documents, links, to do lists, reminders, all of it. The only thing that comes to mind that not just 'could' but NEEDS to be changed in order to make this perfect 5 stars, is better use of the TAGS!!! Make them easier to set for each note! Desktop, mobile, web, all the app versions are missing this. Then, once that is done, make it easier to FIND things by their TAG! That would be mega. There are so many great things about this app, but that is a crucial missing component. Yes, it's there, but it's not as fast an easy as creating a new note or opening a folder for a collection of notes vs pulling up a list of notes by tag. All that aside, you should give this app a chance. I've used everything out there for years, searching and searching. Was quite surprised I liked this one so much that I'm acrtually continuing to use it and even writing a review for it! Never done that that I can recall. It looks simple and boring, when you start using it it doesn't seem all that special... keep going.
  • Has become my main app for notes

    By mjseik
I wanted to wait a while to submit on this app until after I used it pretty extensively. I used to use Evernote until it just kept throwing up full use barriers and switched everything to Apple's Notes, which I've been using extensively for years. At first, I thought I'd use Notebook for lighter stuff and keep using Notes for my heavyduty content. Then, I started duplicating notes to see which app I gravitated towards. I thought the graphics-rich aspects of this app (which I love) would slow it down, make it eventually frustrating to use, but the opposite has been the case. AESTHETICS AND PRODUCTIVITY Visual flexibility has actually allowed me to be more productive, which I didn't expect. Also, you can create check-off lists and smart notebooks, all of which work seamlessly. Great features. SECURITY With the ability to lock notebooks individually, and also lock individual notes within each notebook, this gives me the flexibility in security I feel is lacking in Notes. SYNCING This is one of the most important features that works seamlessly (and quickly--same network, same devices) in Notebook and never has in Notes. Even with Handoff, Notes has always been unpredictable and unreliable; Notebook has performed consistently. SHORTCOMINGS I love the look, style, font, etc. but the inability to change the font size I think is a serious shortcoming. On the Mac, I use keyboard shortcuts, and would normally use cmd and key to enlarge and cmd and - to lower font size. This shortcut isn't available, and there is no way I've found to do this in the app. If the ability to change font size becomes available, I'll be moving all my notes from Notes to Notebook.
  • It works!

I had been using Apple’s native Notes for a number of years and wanted to change for several reasons. Lots of different note apps out there, each with its own feature set. Zoho’s Notebook app is perfect for my use. Simple, well organized, syncs across my iPhone, iPad, Mac. Flexible, easy to use, intuitive, up and running instantly with zero learning curve (did you hear that OneNote?) Great job Zoho!

  • Be Warned About Sharing Between Apple Products

    By Joe from IL
I bought a MacBook and was going to share between it and my MacOS by creating a Zoho account. As soon as I did, both notebooks locked up and I lost the data. The only way to see it is but taking the computer off-line to break the connection to Zoho. The phone contact was not helpful at all and sent me to an email address that hasn't responded. There apparently is no weekend support, which is not good for college students.

I like this, dissapointed you can not do split screen which makes taking notes with online classes/etext harder. Overall nice layout, not what I needed though.
  • poor synching

    By Daylightsavings
It all fall apart. now my desktop native notebook asks me to "sign in" then a separate online window opens, with the version that is on my lap top.. non of it is synching right.. it's like 3 different notebook windows. Also, everyone should know that they are logging your notes and they arenot private. they are being mined for data. boo!

Would be nice if Annotate… was included so pictures or documents could fit nicely in the notes. I hate to mention this but Evernote has this feature and it’s great but Evernote has serious problems now and after 7 years of paying, I’m leaving them. Keep on top of NOTEBOOK.

The app is well designed and is super easy to use - that’s what attracted me to it at the first place. The Notebook was an escape from the other distracting note apps for me. The main issue I have with Notebook is the inability to export whole notebooks or multiple notes at the same time. I have hundreds and can’t do much useful stuff with them outside of Notebook. The frustration comes not in the fact that I just want "another feature,” but in the fact that “export” is the core functionality of any notes / writing app. And I find it impossible to believe that a $2b company has just forgotten to include it. There are many ways to import from other apps like Evernote, but not export… Is this a stick strategy? If so, it’s a really bad one. I’ve moved to Scrivener, which has been a game changed for my writing.
