  • Love Cladwell—Needs More Functionality

    By hvc10a
This app has been so useful to me as I move toward minimalism and try to stick to a more intentional, thoughtful capsule wardrobe. It’s helped me determine what I do/don’t wear and narrow down what kinds of clothing I’m looking for. However, the app and accounts don’t make much sense. If I pay for a subscription, I should be able to access my account on both mobile and desktop. Doesn’t make sense to me why I can’t. More options for tagging items would be nice (i.e., casual vs. workwear). Being able to look at a shopping list view with any capsule is important—just because I have a certain “type” of item in my closet doesn’t mean it fits into my summer capsule as opposed to my winter one. Also for some reason, my stats keep getting completely reset if I don’t log my outfits for awhile.
  • Helpful and fun

I enjoy keeping track of my outfits to inspire me to purge my closet of what I don’t wear and be more creative about what I do wear! I use it everyday It isn’t perfect— it has commenting on outfits but not responding, you can’t add tights or many accessory pieces to looks, but it has improved in the almost year I’ve had it.
  • Disappointed

I downloaded the app to use the free trial and was immediately charged $60 without any notification that I would be charged. Extremely disappointed as this is a ton of money for an app that simply randomizes your closet. after reading their website it sounds like they do not offer refunds. I would suggest to the company that if this many people are complaining about the same issue and leaving bad reviews perhaps you should fix this or offer customers a refund. Absolutely ridiculous.
  • This is a subscription, not well advertised

After spending 10 minutes following the sign up process and checking off similar clothing items you own, etc, you can’t go forward without signing up for a subscription for $60 for a year (after a free trial of only 7 days). Waste of my time. I’m sick of apps doing this it’s such a waste of time for the people that either don’t want or can’t afford the full service. Please just advertise what you are about and don’t make us get invested and waste our time.
  • Good but getting worse

I hate the Explore feature, hate the shopping feature (I don’t buy retail, only thrift, swap, or rent), and it doesn’t let me layer how I actually layer. Plus I almost never use the suggested outfits but build my own (which crashes the app half the time).
  • Lots to Love - but lots to improve

Let me start with the good - totally a fun ap for outfit planning and overall ability to see your wardrobe. They do try to sell you things, but it isn’t excessive or in your face, and since it’s a free ap to be expected. You can see other people’s outfits and then look for similar items/outfits in your own wardrobe, which is awesome! I use it basically any day I need to go to work or out and about in public. Overall would recommend for anyone interested in fashion generally or your own personal style. One thing of note too is the time to build your closet is an investment... photographing your clothes against a white background or scouring the internet for pictures just takes time. Now the needs to be improved - the ap sometimes crashes, although that seems to have been fixed for the most part. The styles don’t make sense, and I more often than not build my own outfit. The items to add to the closet too are pretty limited, so you end up having to take your own photos a decent amount of time. I also wish their were options for accessories, a scarf or well chosen earrings are sometimes what make an outfit. But, those things are pretty minor. My biggest gripe by far is that the features seem to be of the SAME WOMEN over and over and over again. Little effort seems to be put into profiling new members, or even diversity of body shape, race, gender, etc. I mean.... there’s a lot of skinny white women featured; and not even different women, all the same profiles every day. Come on Cladwell, show me something different!!!
  • Need more closet options

I like the ease of being able to add items to your closet, but I really would like to have an accessories section. I would like to include scarves, jewelry, purses, etc in my closet and my outfit plans.
  • Subscription required

Slaps you with a 7-day trial for a $60 subscription as soon as you open the app. One star since this was not advertised in the app description.

Love, love, love this app! It has really maximized my closet.
  • Don't download unless you are okay being charged

A minor downloaded the app, i deleted it not paying attention to my subscriptions (my fault and I admit it) when I received an email with a $60+ bill after tax I was shocked and tried contacting Apple but they have determined that it cannot be canceled. Even on the App's website it says it does not refund if purchased through Apple. Both Companies say they are not responsible but at the end it's you that's loosing money, I even tried checking out the content and it's absolutely a waste of time and money with no value whatsoever and nothing interesting or worth spending money on. Maybe create better content and maybe people won't complain about the ripoff
