Introducing FishSmart from Humminbird, the name you know and trust when it comes to making the most of your time on the water. With the new Humminbird FishSmart app, you now have the ability to access our library of high definition lake maps, as well as transfer maps and important software updates directly onto your Humminbird fish finder. - Access to High Definition LakeMaster Lake Maps on Your Smartphone and Humminbird fish finder: For those who seek the best freshwater lake maps, FishSmart allows you to purchase detailed contour maps of more than 1,500 LakeMaster lakes directly within the app. You can then view your LakeMaster lake map within the FishSmart app, or, you can now download your LakeMaster purchase directly onto your Bluetooth-equipped HELIX G2N and SOLIX series fish finder. - Ability to Identify and Perform software updates on your Humminbird fish finder: The FishSmart app allows you to identify if there are any software updates available to your Humminbird units. Depending on the models you own, you can then seamlessly download the update directly onto the internal hard drive of your Bluetooth-equipped HELIX G2N or SOLIX series fish finder. - GPS Enabled Navigation: Know your exact location, speed and course out on the water, with GPS enabled navigation available in FishSmart directly through your smartphone. - Data Planning Tools: The new FishSmart app allows you to plan waypoints and routes to get a head start on your fishing trips. It also allows tracking on the water so you can save your tracks for future trips. - Data Sharing Tools: FishSmart allows you to import or export waypoints, routes and tracks in GPX format to share with your friends or transfer them to your Humminbird fish finder. - Map Sharing: Maps purchased on ChartSelect are exclusively available for use on both your Humminbird fish finder as well as in the FishSmart app. No extra map purchase required. The Humminbird Advantage: Already own LakeMaster lake maps purchased via ChartSelect and want to use them on your smartphone? No problem! As an added benefit, all existing LakeMaster lake maps in your ChartSelect account are accessible for free within FishSmart once you download the app and sign-in to your account. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. For convenience, charts will be available for re-download for at least one year after purchase.

Once I purchased a lake map (Demopolis Lake), I wasn't able to view it. I saw my PayPal email saying it was purchased but I cant see it on my device (iPhone).

Planning another trip to Canada figures I would get this to study to look for new spots when I am bored. Can’t get Eagle lake in Ontario. It isn’t like a small obscure lake that I can’t find. It’s a well known lake. Have to find another app

The app will not let me register with chart select – keeps citing bogus error messages and will not continue even after I fix each error repeatedly
  • JUNK HUMMINBIRD should be ashamed!

Maps won’t show up on phone and iPad. Even if you pay for them thrice. Hours on the phone with their support. How does someone pre-scout a tourny on an iPhone???? Apparently it’s device specific not person who pays for it! Updates happen monthly for their hardware. If you don’t install they don’t work with each other...... who pays ten of thousands of dollars to get the features advertised, but is reduced to paper maps and the time you wish you were fishing updating their controller units?? Unfortunately this guy. Johnson outdoors has forced me to go GARMIN/ Lowrance. 3 Boats, six fish finders, 3 trolling motors later... no longer a customer. It’s just sad....

The only thing this app is good for is to sell you overpriced maps. Ok it’s also good for updating software but that’s it. Here’s my biggest complaint. You can’t send waypoints to your unit via Bluetooth. Stupid. And it gets stupider. Waypoints entered into the app get exported in the .gpx format, but the unit needs the .hwr format. So you have to convert them using software on your computer. So you might as well enter them into your computer in the first place. And the app only exports one waypoint at a time. You can’t ‘select all’. I’ve been entering waypoint into machines for 15 years and this was the most frustrating. I feel like yelling at someone.

Purchasing & downloading maps is easy and the maps look great once downloaded. It also makes software updates for your units simple if you have your devices registered on the app. However there are a couple things that need to be improved: Each time the app is opened, it has to validate purchases... takes about 45 seconds which gets old. Especially when you are out on the water trying to drop a waypoint or find one on your device. Waypoints are not easy to manage in the app. Each waypoint has to be edited / deleted individually. There is only one waypoint icon to use, so all you see is yellow dots. You must select each one to see what the waypoint represents. Waypoints do not carry over to your other devices when you sign into your Chartselect account. You must select & export each waypoint. This is tolerable but would make more sense to make these sync over to your next device when logging in (the app is already slow to load so might as well wait for waypoints to sync) Waypoints can be air dropped to other devices, but cannot be sent directly to your units, at least not on the Helix’s... not sure about Solix. They must be exported to an SD card then loaded on your device... why???? Maps purchased in the app must be downloaded to an SD card from a PC and loaded on the unit. Not sure if multiple maps can be downloaded to the same SD card. Would be great if maps to be transferred directly from app on device to your unit, just like the software update.

It works but when my iPhone is paired to My Helix 9 the app gives me this message, Pair and connect to a Hummingbird control head to see your devices listed here. The iPhone and unit are paired ? So what’s with the malfunction ?

I had the original version since 2016 with about 20 maps. I had to purchase each map independently and I had no problem with that until they had an update and all my maps are gone. I was told the new version doesn’t support all my maps. Hundreds of dollars gone without any warning.

The mapping is awesome BUT, why does the app have to “validate purchases” every freaking time you open it? fix it humminbird and you will have a great app.
